Our online auctions are hosted on HiBid, which is a separate company with its own privacy policy and terms. This page covers our website. Bidding, registration, and payment on HiBid are covered by HiBid’s policies and the terms of each individual auction.

Privacy Policy

Information you give us

We collect information only when you hand it to us. That includes the name and email address you enter when you sign up for our Auction Notification Service, anything you write in a contact form, and whatever you tell us when you call or email. If you consign items with us or buy at one of our auctions, we also keep the records that go with that business relationship, such as your contact details, what sold, and what was paid.

Information collected automatically

Like nearly every website, our web host records basic technical information when a page loads: IP address, browser and device type, the pages viewed, and the date and time. This is standard server logging used for security and troubleshooting. We do not use it to build a profile of you.

Cookies and site technology

This site runs on WordPress with the Elementor page builder. Those set a small number of functional cookies needed for the site to work properly, such as remembering a form submission or keeping a session active. Pages that embed a Google map, load Google Fonts, or use Google reCAPTCHA on a form will contact Google’s servers, and Google receives your IP address when that happens. • No payment information on this website. We do not take credit card numbers, bank details, or payment through ramseyauctions.com. Payment happens in person at checkout or through the auction platform’s own processor.
• No Social Security numbers or government ID numbers, other than a resale or tax exemption certificate you choose to provide us for a purchase.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, for any purpose.

How we use what we collect

We use your information to send auction announcements you asked for, to answer your questions, to run and settle auctions, to keep the records a business is required to keep, and to protect the site against abuse. That is the whole list.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers we need to operate, and only as much as they need to do their part:

• Constant Contact — our email service. If you sign up for auction notices, your name and email address are stored there so we can send them.
• Our web hosting provider — which stores the website and its server logs.
• Google — for embedded maps, web fonts, and reCAPTCHA form protection, as described above.
• HiBid — the auction platform, for anything relating to bidding and invoices.
• Payment processors, our accountant, and government agencies — where a transaction, tax filing, or valid legal request requires it.

We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, by a court order, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our property, or someone’s safety.

Your choices

Every auction announcement we send includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes you off the list immediately. You can also call or email us and we will remove you by hand. If you want to know what information we have about you, or want it corrected or deleted, contact us and we will take care of it, subject to records we are required to keep for tax and business purposes.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including keeping our website software current and limiting who has access to our records. No website or method of storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information such as card numbers through a website form or email.

Children

This site and our auctions are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
