Log into wordpress.
Once you are logged in, you will see the menu on the left. Scroll up to Posts
and click on that, and you will see a list of your Posts. Auction posts are the ones that have the categories that are NOT Blog or HowToDo.
To edit a post, scroll down to the post name, hover the mouse button over it, and click the “Edit” link that appears on the left below the auction post name.
That will open an editor. It’s not a bad idea to take a look at an existing auction post before starting a new one.
The following applies the both adding a new one and editing an existing one. Remember to save your changes hit the update button on the top left of the page before closing the window or moving to another one.
Explanation of fields in the editor
At the top is a blank line for the post title. It’s self-explanatory.
Below that is the main body text eidting field. It’s like a little mini word processor. Fill this is with the main description of your auction.
To the right of that you’ll see a list of Categories. Select every category that applies, such as contrusction tools, electronics, etc. Note that the categories Blog and HowToDo are not auction categories. Avoid using “Uncategorized”. If you wish to add a new caterogy, click the “+Add Cetegory”, fill in what you want your new category named, and click “add category” again.
IN ORDER FOR the post to be added to the Events Calendar, you have to make sure to check the “Add To Events” category.
To the left of the editor again, there’s a number of fields.
Follow the instructions just above each field to fill them out.

On the right side below categories, there’s an option called “Auction Display options”. This controls whether the auction appears on the front page list. It should be by default “Display on home page”
Below that is a section called future actions. This is for automatically delisting an auction post at a future date and time. Click the enable future action button to open the dialogue.
The ACTION field should read “Change Status”. Leave it there.
In the NEW STATUS field, click to choose the status of the auction post you wish it to assume after the expiration date and time. “Draft” is usually the best option and is the default option.
Below that set the time and date you wish the auction post to expire.
BELOW THAT – IMPORTANT.
In the “Featured Image” section goes an image that will apear on the front page listing.
Click to add a featured image.
The media addition box pops up. This shows the pictures currently uploaded to the website. If you already have an image uploaded, click on the image and then the “Set Featured Image” button on the bottom right.
If you do NOT have an image uploaded, click on the “Upload Files” tab on the upper right of the media box. Then click on “Select Files” and a file explorer dialogue box will appear which allows you to uploaded pictures from your computer. Navigate your folders and find your image, select it, and click the “OPEN” button at the bottom.
If you wish to upload multiple files at once, hold the left control key on your keyboard down as you select files and it will select multiple files. Then his the “OPEN” button.
At the very bottom of the page is the Excerpt which is for short summaries of your auction. You can use this to override the main text.
Scroll back up to the top and hit the UPDATE button to save your work.
You’re done!
If you’d like to preview your auction at any time, click the “Preview Changes” button at the upper right of the editor and a new window will open with a preview.
